Blues ‘n’ Roots Festival is held in Church Stretton. Situated in the heart of the South Shropshire hills this historic Market Town is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
In the late Victorian and Edwardian periods the town was nicknamed Little Switzerland, due to its landscape and development.The local geology is complex and renowned worldwide. It contains some of the oldest rock formations in England.
Church Stretton provides an excellent base for the sportsman or country lover alike. The town was the first Walkers are Welcome town in the Midlands and is very popular with walkers, hikers, fell runners, horse riders, mountain bikers and naturalists. As well as those who just wish to take in the beautiful scenery.
The town also boasts the second highest golf course in England which has breathtaking views.
